Interesting facts about the campsite
On this page we have compiled some information that has proved particularly interesting or useful to our camping guests. Should you need any further information, we are of course always at your service. You can find out how to contact us here – we will be happy to help you!
WLAN
Free WLAN is available throughout the campsite. You will receive the code at check-in. However, we don’t want to raise too many expectations: due to the rural location, the available internet bandwidth is still relatively low.
June 2022: There is improvement in sight: Originally, the fibre connection was announced for August 2023, now the connection is supposed to be ready by December 2022. And it seems to be true, this week (end of June 2022) at least the cable was already there …
December 2022: Various (!!!) calls to Orange, the telephone and Internet provider. Tenor: “No, I don’t know anything about that. Oh, yes, just a moment … No way before 2024 …”.
So we will have to live with the narrow bandwidth for at least the 2023 season …
Spring 2024: The time has come – the fiber optic connection arrived on March 28! Surfing at “normal” speed at last! And because the Wi-Fi infrastructure has also been renewed, the coverage on the campsite should also be significantly improved for our guests. [Unfortunately, a few branches had to be cut to enable the connection between the various antennas].
Shopping nearby
Our village of Lays-sur-le-Doubs, with about 150 inhabitants, is too small to have its own shops. The nearest shopping facilities are in Pierre-de-Bresse. Turn right as you leave the campsite and it is about 6km away. There you will find (almost) everything you need for “daily camping life”:
● Supermarket Intermarché: Supermarket with large meat counter (98, Route de Chalon).
● Supermarket Bi1: Organic supermarket with meat and fish counter (61, Route de Lons le Saunier).
● Bakery: Jerôme Bouchot (18, Route de Chalon) offers various types of bread in addition to the classic baguette.
● Butcher: SEB Traiteur (9, Grande Rue) offers meat from the region and many homemade salads. The sausages (honey-nut, Comté, goat cheese) are particularly recommended.
● Weekly market: Every Monday from 8-12h there is a weekly market with local vendors in the Grande Rue (diversion in Pierre de Bresse).
About 15km from the campsite, you will find a slightly larger Intermarché in Seurre (Grande Rue du Faubourg Saint-Georges, 21250 Seurre) which also stocks special camping gas bottles.
And if all else fails … from the 2023 season we will be offering a small selection of groceries as “breakdown assistance”: Salt, pepper, sugar, pasta, rice, some tinned food, water, milk, … Please understand that we cannot fulfil any special requests or run errands for you.

Safety
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee your safety. But we try our best to keep the campsite secure. We have a video surveillance system that monitors the entrance in particular. And the barrier at the entrance prevents unauthorised access to the site.
Television
Due to the many trees on the site, TV reception is only possible to a limited extent. The best places for TV reception are the few (almost) continuously sunny pitches 21 to 26 at the very end of the campsite.
Breakfast bakery service
We offer a breakfast bakery service. You can order baguettes, croissants and pains au chocolat until 8pm and collect them from the restaurant in the morning from around 8am. We kindly ask you to pay these small amounts in cash.
Waste disposal station for campers
Behind the large agricultural hall you can empty the waste water tanks of your camper. You can also fill up your water tanks here free of charge.
Cool packs
We are well aware of the problem of keeping food fresh while camping, especially during the summer when the temperatures are high and you are camping in a tent. You can bring your own labelled cool packs to the restaurant and have them refrozen overnight. You are also welcome to leave temperature-sensitive medicines with us.
Rubbish, rubbish bins and waste separation
Four large white containers are available diagonally across from the swimming pool for waste separation – which is admittedly a bit of a nuisance when camping: glass, plastic, aluminium/sheet metal and paper. Please note that plastic waste in particular is sorted differently in France. Information can be found on the respective bins. The black residual waste bins are located next to these large white containers.
A small note: At night, cats and other animals like to visit rubbish bags and bins at the pitches. Please ensure that they cannot (easily) get into the garbage.
Karaoke
Weather permitting, karaoke evenings are held every fortnight on Fridays from mid-May to mid-September, starting at 7pm. Our experienced DJ Thierry can really grant nearly all song requests – and in different languages.
Due to the usually large crowds, reservations are required. For these evenings, the chef also always comes up with a special meal for everone. We request your understanding for minor noise disturbance in the mobile homes and on pitches 42 to 46.
Expected dates for 2025: 23 May, 6 June, 20 June(*), 4 July, 18 July, 1 August,
